Paul

have a problem with an exsisting rad ie. no flow.
i think the problem is the thermostatic valve.
have removed the plastic head to check the pin.
i would expect this to be sprung upwards with the force of flow but it is loose. have checked normal valve at other end which is on and have ran some water out of air bleeder, hot water started to flow from normal valve end but nothing through thermo valve. could this be stuck in a closed position and if so is there a simple remedy or do i change the valve:rolleyes:

You can ease the pin up with a pair of grips/pliers but be warned they can pop out if you use too much pressure and they won't budge if you use too little. Some guys here would prob not recommend doing it if you're not familiar with plumbing and having a go on your own. If they pop out they can be a bugger to put back in even for experienced guys who've done it before and water will come out.
If you manage it and it works, good work. If it doesn't, or the problem returns, new valve needed.

Thanks for replying, the pin is not stuck down but moves loosly up and down with grips.I would expect the pin to be forced up with the flow
