This is an Italian version of a compression fitting

Just thought you might like to see one. You'll note the olive is a 3-part arrangement with rubber seal, washer, and separate grab ring.

This had been used on a steel pipe, though the ones used on copper in Italy seem to be the same.

When I was fitting wet rooms, we used to have supplied in the toilet fittings pack a plastic iso valve, which was similar a plastic olive and rubber washer, not sure about a grab ring.

That’s a good idea do you find they can be a bit troublesome to fit and not leak ?
