Been out to fit a diverter valve on a combi 105e I remember Baxi are useless at giving you I rings so I ordered plate o rings got there started removing old diverter pulled bypass off then thought I never ordered a new overflow o ring. Ah well too late now so out comes the lsx put new valve in and filled, pressure gets to .5 bar no leak. Phew pressure gets just over .5 psssssss in the 4-5 seconds it takes to shut filling loop and open drain water has run to the front of the boiler followed the wires and onto the Pcb!!!!! Not a happy bunny I tried to dry it off as best as possible but no fried Pcb. And to make it worse the plate is choked up as well so even though the heating is not getting hot no hot water still.

Why oh why can't they just supply you with the o rings!

You deserve it for using lsx that horrible horrible stuff should be banned! It serves no practical plumbing purpose

Haha.

Works a treat on worcester Cdi diverter valves on the cold water inlet. Only time I use it really as I got fed up of stripping the diverter out 2-3 times for a little drip.

'Today I hate Baxis' ........ this is the start of an epic thread me thinks

Suddenly i feel re assured for never bothering to buy lsx

thanks rob!

I left a firm once for supplying it and insisting I used it on every joint walked in at 7:30 was given 10 tubes and said that would be replacing jointing compound 8:00 I was back home tools emptied from the van and van returned by 8:30

i feel that strongly about it

Lsx , use it on valve glands when weeping, or if your on a shed of a boiler love silicone lube but some times use a dab of lsx instead of silicone on problem joints. I'm not a huge user as I have jet blue on toast, rivita and some times straight from the tub!

You're on thin ice!

first you said something nice about a Worcester and now this! You're one post about a land rover away from going down in my estimations

It's a silicone type paste for jointing. I try not to use it but at times it does come in handy. Never use too much as it can cause major problems because it goes off hard. I only tend to use it on worcester Cdi diverters where they always leak from the mains water.

We fitted 100's and 100's of duo and platinum serviced and repaired lots of 105's too love them all like children. Dispose solos! Beemuda is my older brother!

I don't mind the boilers but the fact they don't give you the washers/orings and they have an 0844 number. I just think they want to take on worcester and Vaillant but they don't do the little things like that I can't see it costing them much and it would make installers and breakdown engineers happy

Boilers are ok, but crap service, crap aftersales and really bad attitude by every Heateam member I have encountered.
Repair loads, but would never fit one again.

keep me busy, so I love 80/105s :) re lsx tried it a couple of times, waste of space and I hate the fact that it is one use only as the next time you try it the tubes gone hard

My Baxi Rep wants me to fit Baxis for ''FREE''!!!
I will go in, quote for the job and send quote details to Baxi. They will then Credit Check the custard, and if approved, I get paid and custard repays on installment basis to (I suppose) Baxi Finance provider. The catch, you can only recommend Baxi boilers to your customers?

I turned down the deal as it means if a custard wanted say Worcester Bosch, I hav to ask them to get someone else. Made me realise why some installers say: ''I only fit xxxxxx boilers''

I work in the middle of nowhere where I cant get internet access and can only just get phone signal so I had to go on the number I got off of plumb center. If you have any other ways of getting another number please shed some light. not so much of an idiot though as I used my works phone as at the moment Im in the process of setting up so still have 2 phones.

what he said anyone who says baxi are crap(except solos) will be made to change a worcester cdi dv,them bloody moan about baxi LOL

on a side not done a dv on a ravenheap csi topday what a fooking pile of ****e that is cold inlet would not line up ,cold outlet had to slackened off on the pex and thats a right pita to undo/tighten back up it still leaked afterwards and when i settled it all down front case fell apart

As for the customer service issues reported not something I've had an issue with but it is something that gets mentioned every now and again.

expect big changes at baxi this year. Heat team is going Bdr is giving up its name and it shall all become baxi. Main reasons in the uk domestic market who the hell is bdr? Heat team what do they do then?

Hence why advanta is now badged as baxi.

also the duotec is getting a younger more attractive brother later this year but with all the creature comforts of the duo tec- warranty access to components etc.

technical help. Get on the installer scheme you get a phone number to the help centre that puts you up front of the que. Admittedly only any good until everyone gets it.

a big focus on one brand! To raise awareness of the brand and bring more installers on side. The baxi finance is a good scheme for its installers too but it dose require a cooling off period but that's standard across any form of finance.

am all for supporting baxi, yes they did balls up with the GA,but there british, there made here i want to see them kick worcesters arse, however ideal are also british and i feel they have it sussed with technical support ,but i will stick with duotecs as i fell there better TBH

Logic is much better design except DHW sensor ! Hurts to say it as I'm Baxi boy !

I'd say the baxi was more sturdy but the logic is much nicer to lift hang and instal
