Hi all
Been to a toilet blockage tonight that I cant get to clear. After an hour of trying plunger & a bottle of "dam buster" it still wont clear. All the soil pipework is buried under tiles so not easy to access & I managed to get a drain snake in about 4 feet but that didn'ti even reach the blockage. Just wondered if anyone had any bright ideas to get it to shift before I dismantle the bathroom ????

What about caustic soda ??

Do you know approx where the blockage is?
Just asking incase it is the sewer outside many metres away.

It wouldn't happen to be a double syphonic toliet would it?

Hi
Its a normal close coupled in a third (top) floor flat in a McCarthy Stone retirement property

Dam Buster is damm (no pun intended) good stuff and clears most blockages so I doubt if the soda would work, I`m thinking something plastic such as a rim fresh is stuck somewhere and it`s time to remove the pan.

Maybe a large pad has been flushed down the loo!
I would try a flat plunger blocking the loo & it full of water & then gently back & forward with the plunger first in an attempt to dislodge anything, but perhaps you have already tried that.
Fill any baths etc & let them flow if they run into same pipe.

I know. That's why I carry it but I think the blockage is too far away

Can't see the path of any pipes due to boxing in but all seems to flow ok except toilet

If you haven't already, try an old string type mop they tend to get a better seal when trying to plunge
Also, have as much water in the bowl as you can, more head of water more chance of moving the blockage
If you've tried all of the above, time to get w/c or pan con off and have a look

I send in the big guns if I have taken the toilet out plunged, rodded as far as they would go, stuck so,e one shot down and checked man holes out side. Failing that it's time to leave
