Afternoon all

I’m trying to replace a toilet downstairs and have come across two issues.

The floor is not level and there is a lip at the front of around 5mm which causes the toilet to rock, even when bolted down. The bolts aren’t the best and are plastic brackets on the inside of the toilet pan. I have seen toilet shims which I can push in underneath but wanted some advice on this. It’s currently a concrete floor, though laminate will go down in the future preventing access to these shims.

The second is the soil pipe at the back (pics included). The pan pipe is loose and pulls out a housing of the pipe. Someone suggested cutting the pipe further along then pushing in a new piece which will have a seal.

Any thoughts?

Yes, use plastic shims to get the pan stable - you won’t need access to them in the future. A blob of silicone to hold them to the floor is a good idea, to stop them moving as pan is used.

Go right from your blue line and the pipe is joined to the stack via a ring seal socket, just pull out everything to the left of this and replace it with a piece of plain 110 pipe with no collars.
