Hi everybody, nice to be here.

The toilet is maybe flushing 1 in every 10 attempts and it looks like it's the amount of water in the tank.
If I pushdown on the float to fill the tank up further, it usually flushes OK.
I understand there is a screw that regulates the amount of refill water but I have that turned to the right as far as it will go.
Any advice on this please?
I'm no plumber so a simple explanation or fix would be appreciated!
Thanks.

That looks the correct level identified by the bulge / step out in the cistern would look at the flush valve / siphon

1. There is a diaphragm washer in the syphon mechanism. These go hard / crack over time and need to be replaced. You can cut one out from reasonably thick polythene sheeting, such as a plastic bag. Symptoms are multiple presses of the handle to flush.
2. However, unless you have a certain type of syphon (Dudley Turbo 88), then if its a low level, close coupled WC (cistern mounted directly on the bowl) you need to separate the cistern and bowl. This will almost certainly require a "Doughnut" washer and a close coupling kit to reassemble. The doughnut washer needs to be the right one for the WC.

The bit that flushes

That is one of the cleanest cisterns I’ve seen!

No crusty old scale like round my way, must make life a lot easier - mind you less work generated.
