Toilet water coming up bath

Hi all, I have a question. We have just moved into a new house a week ago. I have just been to the toilet and flushed.. the water rose a bit more than usual then went down, but then water came up my shower drain. We have just had really bad rain and hail here, is this maybe the reason why the water came up the shower? There has been no issue with drainage so far at all, it's just this one case just now after all the rain but I want to double check if this is an issue to look into?M

Blocked main pipe or blocked manhole.

Thank you for your replies. As this has only just become an issue this afternoon after all the rain, do you think it will sort itself out after the rain has stopped or should we consider getting someone out to check? There are two manhole covers in our car port and there is alot of Standing water near them.

Do they have removable lids ?? If so remove and check they are free flowing, flush the toilet several times and observe. Kop

Is this brand new house or just new to you?

Even if we'd had a Monsoon it shouldn't have happened, needs sorting out.

Its just new to me, it was built in the 70s. I will get someone to come and check it out. Thank you all

If your drains are shared with your neighbours then get your water board to look at them for free.
