A

ar22

fitted an extra rad upstairs in my house

it went in perfect although to get the T in the pipes were too tight to spread so I cut out out approx 2 feet and replaced it with plastic as its more manageable to get the Ts in

it was just before the last rad in the line so 15mm at this point

all sat nicely straight but when I put the heat on and it heated up, the two plastic sections bowed slightly as they are now the weakest link in the copper line

obviously heat expansion

am I being paranoid as I could see what is probably happening under the floorboards elsewhere or should I take the sections out and shorten them 5mm each

cheers

PLASTIC pipe will expand and contract. Can you clip them or when you replace floor boards it will hold them

They be fine but as to regs should be earth bonded across the plastic bits as you have broken the continuity of the earthing

I could clip them on top of one joist but I left them free so as not to stress them and allow them to bow when hot and be straight when cold

cheers for the two very quick responses, I am just a bit paranoid

thats a very valid point about the earth

I am going to do a bit of electrical work in the same floor area so will get that sorted then
