Tools left at customers

Why is it that when you leave tools or an item at customers 95% of them never ring you up and tell you
If you remember were you left it and go back you find the item thrown under the stairs or in a draw, it is not as though they are going to even use what ever
I even left a invoice header stamp once at a customers, really annoyed with my self, remembered were I left it about a week afterwards, went back round and she said,'Oh yeh,I throw that away, did not think you would want it' 😱

Hitachi 18v battery charger, left it at a customers place, i would have gone and got it back but it was a favor for the bosses friend in peterborough. i aint driving 4 hours there and 4 hours back for it tho. 😡 i am a muppet sometimes 🙄

I seem to lose screw drivers alot, on the flip side to this I dont like it when I return to the job the next day and the customer says " Ive found some bits that look important",.... an old nut off the old lockshield youve replaced for a trv, the plastic blanking plug off a new rad, that 50mm off cut of copper pipe that was too short for the rad tail etc, etc......

My favorite claw hammer, not lost know exactaly where it is, but will upset customer if i start lifting her new floor up, so better just leave it there. Nice supprise for someone sometime....
Quote for the day.....ALWAYS PUT THE FLOORING BACK YOURSELF....

and inform them it's a test fit just incase you loose something😉

Lost a pair of pump pliers two years ago. No idea where. Found them again when called out to a customer with a leaky F&E tank and found them in the loft where I had changed the header tank.

Found a pretty ancient bolster chisel down the back of a drywall once. Good condition but must have been there for at least 40 years so I doubt the original owner will still miss it!

Well at least your tools stay at the same address if you leave them on a job, being a HGV mechanic my spanners have had some long trips, and usually a one way ticket!!

my dad took my van[and my kit] to a job last week left my newish hammer there
but tenant was moving out and guess what magic hammer goes walkies i hate losing tools its gutting

iv,e lost tools and its been costly but found a remedy for keeping hold of all my worthly gear .......for me it was chill out take the job at your pace and leave it CLEAN this way nothing gets lost

in the winter time, i once left a cream jumper at a job at council tenants house after fitting new radiator. they didnt have much in flat. i went down to van after job. i went back up to flat and asked for it but tenant said "no jumper in here mate." grrrrrrr i knew it was in there !
but thought he must really need it to hide it, so off i went.

Had two signs made in perspex, one was left at the tip by the apprentice, and the other is still out there somewhere, god knows where, i hope i left it in a posh area..

£60.00 sobs each.......

whats with drilling holes to remove immersion heater 😕
extra holes drilled in flat side of footprints allows jaws to be opened up wider to accomodate wider fittings i.e 2.1/4" immersion heater there are two types of footprints type 1 has a stud which you remove adjust and replace the stud in various holes drilled in the flat side.type2 has a thumb turn which works the same way as an adjustable spanner.for removing an immersion heater I would suggest you use a proper immersion heater spanner🙂regards turnpin
