Hi guys i'm new here and after some advice basically im 30 years old and have just signed up to the gas level 3 techinical certificate at college this will hopefully allow me after the two years to advance to a third year to do my nvq . My questions are am i too old to start this now and if not i have been advised by the tutors to look for saturday work what kind of firms should i approach .Thanks for any help.

Well first of all, welcome to the forum, i'm new he to.:D

30 is not to old, and i my opinion as long as you can and you do the job properly you'll never be to old.
But in terms of work I would deferentially get a job with a GSR Engineer, not least to have some money in your back pocket, but this way the concepts they cover in your couse will make sence to you because you can apply then in the real world.
As to HOW..........well that the million dollar question, to be honest I think you will strugel in certain areas even if you say that you'll work for free just to get the experience. First thing I would do is write to all the big companies you know and then open the yellow pages and again write to all the plumbing firms there that are in your area, say a prayer and hope someone gets back to you with a job offer.

I'd be asking what plumbing quals / experience you have.
It's not a case of what firms but all firms, hope you've got a big stamp budget :)

Never too old, but have a search on here about similiar posts. I would say there are hundreds, but probably in the thousands now.

Good luck.
