Ladies & Gentlemen
I am after advise regarding the above.
6 months ago I enrolled with New Career Skills to study to obtain the NVQ 6128 level 2 qualification. I have already attended my first week practical workshop and am due to attend my 2nd week at the end of this month (will be fitting a bath, basin & toilet).
The thing is, after reading some of the other topic's on this forum I'm a little confused about how useful the NVQ 6128 qualification actually is and also that quite a bit more studying will be required after obtaining 6128.
I also understand that I need to obtain work experience as well and am prepared to work for free at least one day a week in order to gain that experience.
I currently work for Scania (Swedish truck company) on a 4 day on/4 day off 12 hour shift system so I found the blended learning style of course more suitable to fit in around these shifts.
many thanks in advance for your replies and if anyone is looking for an assistant to work at least one day a week for free in the Bradford/Huddersfield/Halifax area then please get in touch
regards
Steve
p.s. I'm a 43 year old bloke and do know my way around a toolkit - I used to build kitchen/bedroom furniture when I left school many moons ago.
