Custard just rang, he has moved in 4 years ago and had a damp chimney in the loft, last summer they went up on the roof but didnt find any problems but still made good the pointing, flashing etc. The problem didnt happen over summer even when the rains came. SInce the boiler has been back on, the problem has returned. He recalls that the chimney simply had a terracotta pot on it, no apparent liner.
The boiler has a vertical stack from it up about a metre before angling into the chimney.
Im guessing Im going to be sticking a flue liner in but a/ should I use a condensing type so its future proof but also would there be a generic adaptor to get it onto the Trianco flue? (5" ish?)
Thanks folks
