For anyone who's interested,

Ive been on the triton eclectic shower course today, a free course with a free lunch

The course goes over the difference between there showers and installation requirements
I wouldn't say that its filled my with lots of knowledge I didn't know
But showed the importance of checking the flow and working pressure and how it will effect the operation of the shower.

The course also went over fault finding although most people would just stick a new shower in,
We went through how to fault find each component and how to tell the signs of what could be causing faults or poor performance.

Over all i'd say that it's a worth while thing to do if you've never been on one and got the free time, or if your new to plumbing or haven't installed a lot of electric showers,

the fault finding side of the course wasn't too technical but there's not much too it, if you've never fault finded a shower though it would be useful.

But also just seeing the different options available was good
For example shower riser rail that's also a grab rail or the pumped electric shower that can be run off a tank

Triton also do a inline scale Inhibitor for hard water that I never knew about.

What was the lunch like?

The problem with fault finding the shower is the cost to visit, diagnosis the fault, order the part, wait delivery, resist and fit the part

2 visits, plus part with mark up. not far off just replacing like for like if no need to move wiring or plumbing

Sounds a decent course for a newbie though but i suspect it is more about marketing there products

Lunch was, choose what you like from the cafeteria and its free

Yeah that's what I thought going Into the course and dont get me wrong if I was going to a t80 fast fit that had a fault, i'd just swap it for a new one unless it was the PRD

But there higher priced showers like the digital showers would be more the ones I'd loom at repairing but it's always good to give the customer the option and the fault findings the same for basically every electric shower

Well I've just finished the mixer shower course today,

It was about the same as the electric course,
They go over the importance of setting the high limit on mixer showers with the button and different showers for disabled\care homes, and how and what can be serviced if needed

Over all i'd say its a worth while thing to do if you've never done one before and got spare time,
Otherwise i'd rather be in work

No offence but it sounds like a silly course... Triton spares for electric showers are crazy!

The last mixer shower I fitted that was triton came with 5 years guarantee, the custards said the cartridge became really stiff to turn on 6 months later & triton made a right palava about having to come out! They replaced & the same thing happened again a year later so they bought a replacement bristan to replace a triton under guarantee!

I normally like triton but its going downhill I reckon

I'd agree with that, had a shower valve and they refused to sell me a new cartridge, said I had to buy the whole valve! That came out and Bristan in!

No offence taken, like I said I think its only worth doing if you've got spare time and have never done one before or worked on shower that much,

The main thing I wanted to see was there repair work for when the customer wants to have the shower repaired instead of replaced although most of the time its just a straight swap
