TRV Problem

I removed a radiator on the weekend to decorate behind it, i closed both valves though the TRV was still leaking water (i was told to depress the pin and this would stop the water though the pin was not going down. )

so question is, is the TRV broken and should it be replaced or is this not the correct way to do this.?

also is there something i can put over the trv it stop it passing water?

you can get plastic caps that screw ontop of the valve that depress the pin(there very stiff) but they often still weep,i always use brass blanking caps with a washer that screw onto the face of the valve,problem solved

trv they never shut .you need shut off cap supplied with valve to shut of properly

aye but ive had them pass as well,all over a cream carpet,thats why i use the blanking caps now
