I like Danfoss Rasc2 but they are really creeping up in price.
I liked drayton rt212 until they changed the design and i had a few rattly ones.
Any recommendations? Honeywell, inta ?

Danfoss ras c2 sometimes ÂŁ4.99 when you buy a rad from screwfix

Have a look on eBay normally around 7-9 per valve

Only dealt with a few, certainly don’t like TP own brand - plumbright, the 10mm nuts are different from all others. We used to use and our install partners currently use pegler terrier valves.

Pegler Terrier all day. Started my apprenticeship 20 years ago this week and they were the only ones my first employer would use. Slimline and top quality, they're still my first choice and what I recommend to customers to this day. Middle of the road price range but top quality in my personal opinion and experience, literally fitted thousands.

I have issues with Terrier 2s. Loads of them have the star shaped thingy such that you can't get the number viewing port to line up where you want it to, the numbers fade in the sun, and they allow a small amount of flow even when the room temperature is 12° and they are supposedly set to 'frost' (8°IIRC). Also the temperature range between fully open and fully closed is far too wide for my liking.

Are the Terrier 3s a big improvement?

Danfoss RAS C2 do seem to be better quality and design (even if they are a bit ugly to be honest) even from the close control of temperature point of view.

Actually, I find it weird that when the horizontal position is the preferred one from a technical perspective, nearly all TRVs seem to be designed to look best installed vertically.

What do people think of the Drayton TRV4? Never installed one, but they certainly look good.

I didn't know Terrier 3's existed because I'm so impressed with the 2's. And no, I don't work for Pegler.

I agree ras c’s work well , Ric2013 if you want a better looking one I think the ras d’s are the best looking ones - they also work really well too ( the Lilliputian Allen key can be a bit fiddly though!)

The ras Ds are all chrome though? I liked the colour of the ras C's: it's the weird text that puts me off!

As a rule for panel rads I use Honeywell as below . Kop
