Hi not sure if this is the right place to ask this but Im a window cleaner using the water fed pole system.

i use a shurflo 100psi 12v pump to pump the water along 100ms of braided hose.

i have a wireless switch that i use to turn pump on and off,

but when i turn the pump off inbertween jobs or walking from the front to the back water carries on coming out the hose due to the remaing pressure in the hose,

dose anyone know if there is a way that i could turn the pump off and the water stops straight away, something inline or small with 1/4" male/female threads on? would some kind of inline vaccum valve work??

cheers

Realy you need a valve on the bottom of the pole send us a picture of where the hose joins the poleDO YOU KNOW IF YOUR SURFLOW PUMP INCLUDES A PREASURE SWITCH

i have a rectus21 fitting that i can undo and that will cut the water off but to do that i have to put pole down, undo it, pick pole up walk round back, put pole down, re-connect, pick pole back up.

yes pump fitted with pressure switch.

None return valve wont work as the water is flowing in the right direction I assume. Not sure what you check valve is but a normal mains double check valve won't let water through unless there is a bit of pressure behind it. Now with your pump off the pressure will drop and a bit of afterflow would be normal with an open end but the check valve should stop that. Maybe you check valve is low pressure mate hence the flow continuing

Could you not use an lever isolation valve ago stop it. It's one of those things that's easier to deal with when it's in front of you.

yer i think that could be it, i'll have to try a mains one to see how that works out, but need to find a small one or a light one. ummm

yer most guys do use these i had one fitted but its a pain in the bum having to carry it about, finding it it and it all takes time, hence why i went to a wireless swich, that works a treat 100m's away and still turns pump on and off,
