got a spec come through where it is asking for a twin coil cylinder to be run with the second coil off a two port to kick in when the demand is high

i thought the second coil is generic with solar or am i wrong???

It is becoming quite common for twin coils be be speced on jobs as the price difference is quite small and gives the option of adding an additional heat source.
If there is only one heat source and it is just connected to the top coil you would only get half tank of water.
How they are going to figure out how to control it for high demand is another thing.
If you want a bath press button B
Valve the second coil so it can be cut off if things change which it probably won't.

Id suggest a rapid recovery cylinder, as said above controlling it as they want will be tricky. The only thing I can think of would be a flow switches but will get really complex (over run timers ect). If there insistent both coils operational at the same time would be my suggestion.
