hi all. i want to remove an old rad with a twin vale. want to know how to shut off the flow & return, does the one valve shut down both pipes as i dont want drain the whole system, done loads of normal rads in the past i.e lockshield on both ends, but never one of these, thanks.

the knob you turn will only adjust the flow into the rad ( or return depending how its piped )
somewhere on the valve will be at least one further allan key/screwdriver adjustable point, if not 2. (1 for balancing and 1 for by-pass)
the by pass will need to be left open if your using the rest of the rads.
the balance will need to be closed.

every one pipe system valve is different, find the manufacturer and download the instructions if you can.

hi shaun, many thanks for your info, i will look at it again see if i can sus out the points you made, if not i will try to give a bit more detailed info, thanks again.

Well, looked at it again the single valve only has one turn head to stop the flow into the rad, there are no other screws or allen keys at al to play with, looking more like having to drain the system down, unless im missing something

can you take picture and post from maybe your phone or are there any markings on it,there should be some were on valve to turn return off (or flow depending which way piped)

you will also have to be careful as a spreader pipe will be in the radiator attached to the valve to allow water to circulate round rad
