Hi to all

i am a gas engineer having trouble at a job with two radiators that are cold in the Same location of house, I've changed both rads to new with new trvs and lock shield. Thought it was a airlock ,so I attached a house to vent and pushed water nothing!!! Then thought to turn other radiators down to see if I can push hot to the cold ones they did get Luke warn ???

any suggestion would be great thank you!!!

Is it a 1 pipe or 2 pipe, Were the original ones getting hot...If one pipe have you fit correct trv's, If two pipe have you tried to drag water from the rads.....Need a bit more pal..

Pins maybe stuck down on trvs, or sludge tap valve with hammer, and or free pin, sounds like lukewarm from return, how many rads and boiler size?
As above poster says could be 1 pipe sys?
Are they new type reversible trvs?
Need more info, pump speed? Bleed pump?

I once had a faulty lock shield. It was physically turning but not actually opening inside at all. Only by taking it off and blowing through it I realized it wasn't opening.

Original ones were not working, one pipe now only gets warm which is the flow on both rads return stays cold. Steve not sure what you mean by bleed each side separately?

Thank you for all your replies

Completely shut down the Lockshields on all other radiators and see if they get hot. If they do gradually open up the other lockshields and see if they stay hot

When the other rads are off , the cold ones get Luke warm and pipes on one side only get hot

thanks

vent with one valve closed the open that one and close the other and vent again i normally take the bleed nipple right out and hold a bucket up then open each valve in turn until both pipes are hot

Trvs are 2way and barand new, 7 rads in total boiler combi 24kw. One pipe is only cold seems like the water is not returning back. Not sure about pump speed or how can I test pump ?

I have tried this by attaching a drain off point to venting point of rad and letting it run for about 10mins no luck !!!!

Do as Steve says, if you may find you get no flow of water out when you do the return valve. Then you know if the return is blocked or not.

I done exactly what Steve said turn one on got it hot then turn the other one got it hot but then the other one gets cold doesn't stay hot for some reason. Any reason this will happen???!!

thank you
