Two small rads or a large one in room?

Hi all,

Need to change a large rad in bedroom (currently against wall) and want to install two smaller rads under each of the two windows. However, a friend was told it's not efficient to put two rads in line (using the same pipe basically) as the water will have to go through the first rad and then into the second, meaning the heat output won't be as much actually adding the BPU of the two rads.

Is this correct? Any way to deal with it? All help very welcome, as already bought the two rads, will need to return them ASAP if that is the case...

Cheers!

You need to fit them so that each is connected independently to flow and return pipework. Doing that is the correct way.

You are correct in stating that it is not efficient linking the two together as the water entering the second one will have cooled.

Don't forget to rebalance the system when you have finished as altering the radiators will throw it out of balance.
