Hi all,

I would appreciate if you could give me your thoughts on this boiler. It has a stainless steel exchanger which I believe is essential.

Ultracom Boiler
http://www.glow-worm.co.uk/products/open-vent-boilers/ultracom-hxi/

Our heating contractor recommends this boiler even though they can fit other brands (Baxi, Potterton, Worcester, Vokera) . I would prefer to go with the Ultracom if it got the thumbs up here and if there wasn't much difference between it and the other boilers from a technical and price point of view.

Many thanks in advance for your assistance.

William

As a service & repair engineer my choice would be Worcester Bosch, I tend to have to repair them less than the others.
G/worms are middle of the road, the others I see quite alot of for repairs. Of other makes I like Remeha, but don't know if they do an open vented boiler. They have 5 yr parts with 2yr labour. [Big company from Holland, have been making HE boilers for years.]
Price of boilers, sorry can't say, don't fit them.
Good luck in choosing

Many thanks for the reply. Will wait to hear from a few others also before making final decision. Heard that the Worcester was good alright.

I always recomended glow-worm when i was installing , now just service and breakdown but only real problems are the internal filling loops , (stupid plastic rubbish) so yep go for it

as i install, repair and service boilers and need to keep my coustomers happy it would be a potterton performa or baxi duotec much better than glowsh*t or Worcester

rehema for me vailant quality at better price personally i think wb over rated due to its gas board connections most get repaired free

Baxi duo tec for me, glow worm are cheap rubbish, wb i agree over rated
Ideals have always been crap but a couple of people have said the new logic is good???
