Hello Fellas,

I need to change the pump on this under floor heating sytem which is connected up to the flow and return of boiler. Can you guys help me identify the parts in this system so i know what they do. i Do have a basic knowledge of uner floor heating systems but this one is no familiar to me so your help is most appreciated. see photos below

I can start us off
pic 1 pump-TRV to controll temperatire- circuit valves
pic 3 electronic control unit
pic 4 expansion vessel serving the heating system

question -
1- what is the solid vertical bar between the flow and return levels
2- are the red and blue things on the end of each horizontal branch bleed and drain vavles?
3- the wilo pump is 1 inch BSP, where can i get a suitable replacement off the self in North LONDON?

thanks lads

you're right the red and blue are bleeds/drain offs. The plastic caps unscrew off.

i would say turn of manually 2 port valve on the flow and turn of liver valve on return to isolate ufh , then drain down and just replace head of pump , then re pressurise and bleed

turn off the TRV head, turn off the return valve and drain at the blue valve, the change the head.
The "bar" is the mixing valve so the u/f heating does not get too hot

Correct, except the "bar" has nothing to do with temperatures. It's simply a bypass.
The remote temperature sensor above the pump in conjunction with the TRV determines how much "hot" CH water can enter the UFH circuit.
