Hi - I hope you all are well
We have recently moved into a new house that has under floor heating. The house had an extension built to it, the under floor is heated by gas. The original house had underfloor heating as well, powered by electricity.
The under-floor heating in the extension does not work. I tried to attach a picture of the system we have (I hope it worked)
The control on the wall does not seem to interact with the system
(ie, when i put the heat up, it does not react). When looking at the installation, I see a white box that has a 'manual' and 'automatic' switch. It currently points to 'automatic' however when I switch it to 'manual' the boiler comes on and I feel hot liquid going through the copper and pvc pipes. However the floor itself does not heat.
The pump installed is a grundfos 25-60 and am inclined to say the pump does not work (as the floor does not heat up..)
How can I check if the pump is working ? (is there a reset button?)
How can I check if the control is communicating with the system ?
The installation has quite some valves (Red/Blue) all are open. I have not touched these. What would Red/Blue mean ?
There are in total 4 PVC pipes, two of them get heat when I switch to 'manual', two don't.
Any help on the questions and how I maybe could fix this myself ?
In terms of operating the under floor heating (for both gas and electricity), what is the advise, ie letting them on day&night on a (which?) temperature or switch them only whenever needed to reduce costs ?
Thanks a lot !!
