I have an anti scale shower head that I need to replace but I can't find its like anywhere. It looks like an ordinary plastic head but has a separate inner ring of plastic needles inside the housing - when the jets get blocked you simply push the (spring loaded) front face inwards and the aligning needles poke through them and clear the scale. It's about five years old, an after-market product but unfortunately the chap who fitted it is no longer around and didn't leave the packaging - and there's no indentifying manufacturer's name/number on it anywhere. Has anyone else ever seen one of these/know if they're still made/who sells, etc? Or if not, is there anything of a similar (mechanical) design, other than the usual rub-off rubber jets? Any help gratefully received! Thanks, Bob.

Hi Bob!

MX Group make these. To activate the cleaning nozzles all you need to do is rotate a lever around the bottom of the shower head and the spikes pop up and clear any blockages.

Thanks very much for the lead, it's a great help, I'll follow it up. But before I do, have you tried this head yourself and, if so, does it work well (at clearing scale)? I ask because it definitely isn't the one I have currently, which is brilliant and so I'd prefer not to consign it to the bin before checking!

Thanks again
Bob

Hi guys ^^

Sorry to the Mods about the last post:( I thought I was being helpful by giving you the link to where we sold the showerhead in question but I can see how that counts as advertising :S I would have linked you to MX Group's website but they don't sell to the general public >.<

Guess I still have a lot to learn about using these forums. I'll be more aware in future ^^

As far as testing the showerhead I'll be honest and say I haven't personally seen one in action either. You could give MX a ring or email and see if they can give you some details though :)
