Unusual shower pump set up

I was asked to take a look at leaking shower pump and came across these huge things!

There Lowara type industrial looking pumps, one for hot & one for cold... I'm struggling to find a service kit to repair the leaking motor, and would probs not feel comfortable servicing one of them anyway, looks to be a specialist job maybe?

Is there any reason these would have been fitted over a regular shower pump? The pumps feeds 2 or 3 showers in a domestic house... I'm thinking a salamander rsp100 with 22 feeds would be more suitable but see what you guys say...?

Isn't the inlet supposed to be 1 1/2 ? Not sure about service kits try climate center - part of plumbs. What they get at shower 120lpm?

Previous owner was a commercial plumber with sticky fingers from the look of it!

I'd be asking ferrier pumps for info about them but themz only in Scotchland.
Does seem a bit excessive but you'd need a big sized pump/plenty of pressure for 3 showers, i guess they sized on all 3 running in unison?

They look like pressure sets but with out the vessel, are the any of the showers negative head?
Had a job last year to feed 3 shower and looking at all having 6" or 8" deluge heads on them, spoke to salamanda who recommended (can't quite remember) ESP 120CPVSB super boost which consists of 2 large negative head pump, which in my opinion almost to big for the job as mostly only 1 shower running at a time! but that was Salamanda's recommendation so that was what I went for!

The showers were all on the 1st floor, so should all be posistive head I think.

im also thinking the previous owner was some sort of commercial plumber or someone who had two old pumps kicking about!
