i hope someone can give me an advise on the issue that I'm currently facing, my property is a new build and its just 3 years old, the house came fitted with megaflow eco solar 300si, its an unvented cylinder which works with both boiler and solar panel.

The issue that I'm facing is the hot water pressure, I had an issue where which the developer fitted a Thermostatic Mixing Valve and every couple of months i will not get any hot water as the Mixing valve used to break down on me....changing it used to solve the problem....but recently after consulting with Megaflow i have decided to remove the TMV and connect the hot water directly...no issues for couple of months and now the problem is back....

1- There is hot water in the cylinder
2- I tried shutting off the cold water supply to the system, drained both cold and hot water & tried filling in the system slowly to release any air in the system it didn't work...

any sort of advise will be really helpful

im assuming you have removed the blending valve at the cylinder then please be aware that this is a safety device and should not be removed.

get a g3 plumber in to investigate the problem and service the cylinder.

thks for the speedy reply guys, yes the TMV is a safety valve but its not a requirement by Megaflow & according to them it was a simple answer when i go to them with my hot water issue - simple it must be your TMV....but not after removing it I'm having the same issue, on the matter on servicing the cylinder it was done last September...

On that basis then I would get the guy back that serviced it. It could be quite an easy fix. Regarding the TMV Yes it is a safety device to prevent scalding. If you have removed it then I guess that's at your own risk although you shouldn't have. If your plumber removed it that he needs a slapped wrist as if something goes wrong hed be liable

What was the issue with the hot water pressure?
Was it no hot water at the taps, only cold out of hot taps or was it the flow of hot water ?

Not sure if you can post a photo of the cylinder install but it would really help to confirm it is installed correctly.
