just a clip or two of potential issues for all the diyers out there, plumbers have probably enjoyed this before. All they did was remove the safety devices and turn on the immersions! :hurray:

i didnt think this was a myth anyway? water boiling point differs at different pressures, cylinder fails, water turns to steam and bang! science.
 
It's always the 1st thing they show you in the unvented course, it's enough to put anybody off lol
 
I remember seeing a photo a long time ago of a house with 2 outside walls missing due to someone not putting a vent pipe on an “open vented” electric water tank. This was before unvented clys were used in normal homes.

All it takes is forgetting to remove the cap on the vent pipe after flushing a system!
 
trouble is you can call a person a name and get a police record, but you can install a potential bomb in somebodys house and the authorities dont care till it goes bang.

we should have a law that means you can brand a cowboy tradesman across his/her face so everbody knows not to give them work. lol
