Hi,

Before I start excuse my ignorace in all matters relating to plumbing, I shall try and explain what the issue is.

I have a tribune unvented water cylinder with an expansion vessel (13 litres i think). The steel clamp (hose clamp) has snapped and the vessel has come crashing to the floor probabaly due to the weight of it as it's completely full of water. I assume this should not be completely full so am guessing I need a new expansion vessel. Can this be confirmed based on my description. I wold rather have a bit of understanding on the matter and purchase one myself rather than getting a local plumber in to tell me this.

Many thanks.
J

NO! It is illegal for you to be doing anything to that I'm afraid. You'd be breaking part G3 of the building regs which are a statutory and enforceable document.

Get a plumber in who has a G3 / Unvented ticket.
