Hello All
I am gas safe and G3 registered since 3 years. So still very new to this industry and I have tons to learn.
I specialise in service and maintenance, unvented hot water installations are very popular here in Wiltshire. We have water pressure 3,5-4 or more bar mains pressure over here and hard water is also present.
I have had now, 2 systems which are same make range Tribune, kingspan about 14years old, which I service.
Both systems had initially when I came to them, expansion vessels full to the brim and resulting the 6bar PRV to fail.
Those parts I replaced to pressurised to 3bar to balance the 3bar pressure relief valve.
Now, I face some odd pipe work resistance, resulting in noise/vibration around expansion vessel area.
I checked the filters and they were clear, no debris...both properties have had block salt water softeners installed.
Noise is worst once the cylinder was heated to full temperature 55-58degrees and occurs on most outlets.
Open the taps/shower again and the vibration lessens or not audible.
I guess the water is at its biggest volume after heating, therefore more pressure?
After I replaced the 3bar pressure relief valve/multi control with direct replacement, problem still occurs.
I am grateful for anyone happy to teach me on this subject, as I clearly need it.
I have spoken to the manufacturers technical support and their advice, I have tried...
Changing orientation of expansion vessel, horizontal etc.
What am I missing?
Many thanks
