So, if you turn the stopcock off that fills an unvented you get no water from taps?

correct, unles it is a POS megaflo, that looks like the valve is shut but isnt!!!!

yes but may take 20secs or so until the hot stops,due to the pressure stored.

if you lucky you might get some single malt whiskey coming out of the taps
