Hi, new to this and am looking for someone to give me a little help understanding my new central heating system, as I'm only used to the simple workings of a combi. I've recently moved into a new build property which has a unvented system boiler with hot water cylinder in the bathroom airing cupboard. Since I've been in I regularly here the boiler firing every 10 minutes for 3/4 minutes at a time even though the hot water timer is off. Speaking to someone on site they tell me that the boiler fires to keep constant temperature of the hot water in the cylinder. Is this the correct/most efficient way to run it? As my plan was heat the water when the central heating was on thus killing 2 birds with one stone. If this is the case when I'm away from home for any length of time how do I stop the boiler heating the cylinder if the timer seems to be doing nothing?
Thanks in advance
