I've been a plumber on the wet side now for nearly 5 years and very soon will be doing my Gas.

I just wanted to have a good list of extra tools and equipment I can buy to upgrade my plumbing kit to a gas engineers kit. Please give recommendations of certain brands if you can as I'd like to obviously have the best kit available.

Thanks guys

Ben

gas gauge best one is this [DLMURL="http://www.reginproducts.co.uk/flowandpressure/REGU35"]REGU35 - 'Premier 45' Manometer | Regin[/DLMURL]
a lot of people use there fga nowdays but i find it quicker to use the old type and the batteries are never flat

Yes agree but a FGA is required as of next year apparently , parot case, leatherman TTI , snap on /bluepoint 3/4 inch adjustable, gas rate app on phone

Might seem like a daft question but wot the firk is a parot case? Do you mean parrot cage?!

The muts nuts tool case that you can stand on ,that saves time looking for tools hence more jobs, more money etc etc no i dont mean a parrot cage but i do have a parrot lol

u gauge, tubing, flue gas analyser, core drill and bits, hoover, gas certs, gas labels, smoke matches/bombs/tapers, thermometer, weir cup, tds meter, continuity bonds, leak detection, HE brushes, flue brushes, wire brushes, tin snips, ladders and cat ladder, small pipebender, multimeter, voltstick, stilsons, grease etc.....

in other words quite alot of stuff, apart from the main items you should first make sure you have the important things like certs/warning notices and labels and some caps as you cant really get away with not having these to hand.

Thats a good list to get started , its a fact whatever you carry you will never have everything , I have had my van loaded for year and always work within 20 minutes of a good merchants ,So I have started trying to carry less from now on ,Saves me having to replace the springs on the back again lol
