I have bought a house which needs a new heating system as it currently has a knackered old electric boiler.

It’s currently running 8mm microbore which I’ve read enough about to know its rubbish and worth replacing while I have easy access to all pipe work.

My question is about how to actually do this:
The system has 22mm feed and return with a manifold upstairs and manifold downstairs splitting to microbore. The microbore runs from the manifold to each of the radiators.
Can I replace the manifolds with a bunch of T pieces and run 15mm to each of the radiators (quite a long distance) or is it better to run the 22mm near to each radiator and T off a short distance with 15mm? Will it affect how the system performs or is it a matter of what’s easiest to fit? I know running 15mm all the way from where the manifold is would use more pipe but I could use some kind of flexible pipe so it would be easier to fit. Do I need to do anything specific to balance the system?

Thanks in advance.
