Hi guys first post and really need some help with the cold weather closing in.

I have a Potterton Combi 80 boiler which packed up a few days ago, no lights no power no nothing.

Kept blowing the blow fuse inside which is recommended 2 amp, so disconnected the pump, new fuse and it fired up... pumps the culprit. Anyhow fitted a new pump today, all fires up ok, for around 5 seconds then the pressure statrs to build up and flame cuts out. Also seems as though the pumps making a whirring kind of noise which is disturbing!!!

Any ideas please guys, thanks so much.

Have you bled the air out of the pump?
Also check any iso valves are open.... I know it is basic but easy to overlook!

As above, check for an auto air vent in the boiler also. Are the rads getting warm? Did you isolate the flow/return to drain the boiler and are they back open again?
