Hi Lads,
i have a fire to fit for a customer and the opening is too big for the fire....can i line the opening using fireboard? as this would be the simplest way of solving my problem. I dont install that many fires to be honest so need advice. There is already a flue liner installed and its pulling fine.
cheers.

I've used fireboard or medium dense blocks to reduce the catchment areas in the past. You're supposed to use a new flue liner as well as you can't guarantee the integrity of the existing one over the life of the new fire.
