Hi,Does anyone know how effective this product is,it is foil application(like thick tin foil) that goes behind radiators to deflect heat back into the room.the manufactures make great claims on how effective it is,but is it ??

Yeah I know what you mean,I was asked the Question by one of our customers and I said I would find out opinions on this which I think we all share, cheers for reply stevetheplumber

Seen same sort of thing on one of shopping chanels on tv, claim all sorts of things but dont know how good it is ! dare say some one will tell us ,:dunce2:

Only really effective on outside walls (particularly if solid), otherwise warming an interior wall is a minor thermal buffer. On my house external wall was 4deg cooler after I fitted it.

had some in my lounge behind 1800x700 rad.
could not tell any difference however, put a small shelf 4'' deep and you can feel it into the room.

Only any use like a previous poster said, against an outside wall. It stops a small amount of heat being transferred to the wall. Not a bad idea but I wouldn't spend time fitting it until after your loft is fully insulated, cavity wall insulation, pipe lagging, double glazing and draught excluding all done and you're wondering what to do next.
