Never done this or even tried it before but can i use a Baxi Duotec (ver 1) just as a water heater, flow and return turned so my customers can have hot water whilst I re pipe their system ?

As a temp measure why not? Never done it myself either! Only concern would be whether or not the boiler 'dumps', on overrun, excess latent heat into the radiators before switching off? I don't know the answer to that one or took notice to be honest :)

Baxi fine for few days. Uses side of plate as bypass. Pump over run may be bit longer but fine. If it's going to be longer i .e weeks or months I would make loop through old cws full if cold water . Then cws will cool ch water as it flows through, not really needed but if it's a 40 and they are running 3 baths and them a few showers boiler might get a bit tired!

u can use an intergas combi as a water heater as long as you like, only needs a couple of button pushes to do so :)

out of interest, do the manufacturers approve of this plan?
