Hi All,
Customer is adamant that they would like a Vaillaint boiler. Can any please recommend a 28kw combi?

Thanks for that...

just on another question, what do you do when a customer absolutely refuses a powerflush despite you advising them about the downfalls? do you carry on with the new install?

British Standards don't require a powerflush, only that the system be cleaned. That could be a mains flush or a very basic hot/cold flush after installation.

How you proceed is up to you. Take a water sample. If it is absolutely filthy either

1) refuse the job knowing there will be comebacks
2) get them to sign a disclaimer

If it's not too bad put in a filter and hope for the best. Still get it in writing that they refused a powerflush though.

I know what I would do but it's your choice.

Oh, and if you don't flush, make sure you write "Customer refused" on the Benchmark section about flushing. Don't leave it blank...

Thanks Masood, much appreciated....

No worries but do be careful. It's your reputation on the line and possibly your liability insurance. Vaillant DO check water quality and they WILL refuse warranty claims.

If you don't get a VERY explicit disclaimer signed the presumption of liability will be on you - as the professional the customer can claim that they relied on your expert advice.

So make sure your disclaimer states that:

A) you strongly recommend a powerflush due to age/condition of system
B) that sludge will almost certainly cause premature failure of system components and shorten boiler life
C) manufacturer will refuse warranty claims if system water is dirty
D) I <customer name> understand all the above, accept full liability for any future problems caused by system water quality and explicitly absolve bassmonster from any and all liability arising from therefrom.

Pro 28. Sign up to Vaillant Advance and you can offer a 7-year warranty on it. City Plumbing are also doing a mega cheap deals on them at the moment.

Fitted 2 this week, 1 more Friday, and 3 next week! All Pro 28s!

Why don't they want s powerflush

As long as you thouroughly flush adding your cleanser n inhibitor ,,,, that's all I do as don't own a power flush machine ,,,, mind u the waters real good up this way
