Hi,

I have a 2002 installed Vaillant Thermocompact 624 system boiler, 'S' plan with an unvented hot water cylinder, this is currently controlled via Hive.

I have a boiler fund in preperation for when my exiting boiler dies and I'm just exploring my control option wish list which I hope you can help me with.

The boiler I'm looking at getting professionally installed is a Vaillant ecoTec 624, I would like the system to have weather compensation with an external weather compensation sensor, rather than use an app as my nearest Met office sensor is 15 miles away and the ability to set the temperature of my domestic hot water (my tank has an empty dry pocket).

The thing I would like to do is keep the Hive to turn the heating and DHW on and off, is this possible, also, is a hall thermostat used with weather compensated systems.

Cheers

I’m sure that hive were trying to develope their system so that you could turn the frost protection off. Not sure if they have yet though.

Vaillant will say you need to use their thermostat. But in reality, you don’t.
Use a vrc700 this has an outside sensor and will modulate the boiler.

Can the ecoTEC exclusive 627 have a external weather compensation sensor wired directly to it, rather than use internet weather conditions?
As above really.
In my opinion and experience shower that the vsmart internet weather comp. works far MORE effcient. It might cost a bit more but in the end you will benefit
