Vaillant Ecotec plus - Pressure Low and wont fill up

Hi guys,
Woke up this morning to no heating and hot water.
Looked at boiler and pressure was low.
Tried to top up using taps underneath but nothing flows through.
Disconnected braided pipe and turned on and water comes through.
I will call engineer out, but wondered if there was a way of just getting pressure in for time being?

Has one of the plastic knobs cracked and not actually turning the valve underneath? Worth a quick check, if not get an eng in as may have a failed check valve..

Thanks for getting back to me - no they are definitely turning 90 degrees as they stop once there.

The plastic bit will do, doesn't mean that the spindle is turning.

Humour us, take the heads off and use a pair of pliers.
