Morning chaps, got a custard with the above boiler playing up & need some help please

Basically the boiler will not run unless the pressure is set to around 2.5bar

But even then it still cuts out every so often, runs like a dream if set at 3bar plus

The PRV hasn't opened & I also think the expansion vessel has had it

It's had a very big leak inside which I repaired earlier this year, the bottom of the boiler is as rusty as a 50 year old been tin

It's also worth saying these are only a small set of problems with the boiler lol

Any ideas????

Could be a fudged gauge or pressure sensor but it sounds like more issues. I'd be tempted to lean them toward new boiler

Thats what I'm trying for, a vaillant engineer has told me it will need:
Pump
PRV
Expansion vessel
Pressure sensor & gauge

Got to be the best part of £400-£600 just in parts

Stupid when they can buy a new one and get all the coverage of a warranty etc
