[TD="colspan: 2"]Hi All,
Could anyone please recommend an experienced gas engineer to service my lovely old Vaillant VCW-sine 18T combi boiler in South West London (Tooting). It used to get serviced regularly, but unfortunately our gas engineer passed away recently.
Thanks for your help.

Thanks for your reply.
The engineer who serviced our boiler used to come all the way from South Woodford
and we looked after him very well during his visit to make it worth his while. 🙂
It has been impossible so far to find an engineer who knows those
classic machines and is not put off by the fact that you might have to source the odd spare part online.
That Vaillant boiler is sometimes referred to as the Rolls Royce of boilers and properly serviced, there is no reason why it shouldn't
continue to function for a while longer. The search goes on.
Most engineers I have spoken to suggest a brand new boiler which is fine, but these only work with the larger gas pipe
which is not an option at the moment because of the upheaval this would cause. (Our boiler is at the back of the flat.Carpets would have to come up, floorboards etc.)
I will try the local gas safe registered engineers, but I don't hold out much hope at the moment because modern engineers just don't seem know those machines.

i doubt if the gas supply is sufficent for the existing boiler as its the output that decides the gas rate needed
