Our Vaillant Turbomax Pro 28E boiler produces plentiful hot water when the Central Heating is off, but the hot water temperature is significantly lower when the heating is on. The only way to get beyond luke warm is to turn the flow down to very low (useless for baths, showers, etc.).
From a bit of checking, it seems that the problem is worst when the radiators have fully warmed up. When the heating is first turned on and for the next ca. 15-20 mins, we can still get hot water, but after that it is warm or tepid depending on how low the flow is. The problem also seems to persist for ca. 5-10 mins after the CH is switched off.
We have had a plumber in and he thought it was the heat exchanger, so he took that away and cleaned it, but it has had no noticeable effect on the problem.
Someone suggested a faulty diverter valve and recommended I try hot water with the CH flow switched off to see what impact this had - I did and the water temp seemed to be marginally higher (a few degrees), but still did not go hot.
I appreciate the information provided is somewhat limited but if anyone can shed any light on what the problem/solution is likely to be it would be greatly appreciated.
