Hi everyone, I have a customer who's vaillant turbomax combi boiler cuts out occassionally. However by switching it off and then back on it resets itself and starts up again.
The diagnostics point to the pump which would make sense. But before I go down this route I just wondered if anyone else has come across this problem or may have an alternative solution??

Cheers
Rob

If this is the one with the turquose control knobs

Its the same as mine,it is a common fault and have no idea what does it,it always works perfect on hot water but sometimes on heating,as you say it will stop working, turn it on and off and away it goes,it can last weeks with no problem and then it happens, maybe happen 4 times over heating season, have got use to it,not very good for the street cred in the family though, know of other customers with same problem sometimes a bit worse sometimes a bit better than mine,if you find out what it is ,please let me know, not that I wold do anything as will probably replace in summer, getting on now

Do not think pump though,as I have checked this, think problem in electronics,as said does not go to lock out, just heating light goes out like relay on pcb sticking, always happens at night when relaxing or when I am out so have not got into it and never seen it happen at a customers just told about it,parts are so expensive,if you fit ,cannot take back and if not fault, you are stuck
you could try pump,at least you can use that else were if not problem
Not much help I know,sorry

Cheers Puddle. It is the one with the turquose knobs as you described and having read that you are experiencing similar problems I think I will get onto vaillant's technical hot line in the morning and see if they can point me in the right direction.
Like you say, I don't want to replace a part that isn't part of the problem.
If I get any joy with the tech guys in the morning I will let you know.
Cheers

Vaillant use air pressure directly acting on the gas valve diaphragm to control the gas supply to the burner. could be thats cloged or sticking a bit.
