Hi All,

My first post. This is partly my fault for now keeping tabs on this.

Around 3 years ago, I had two boilers installed on two rentals houses. Unbeknown to me the installer did not register either of them.

So I contact the installer, he claims he has an issue with the Vaillent portal etc. Upshot is he said he can't register.

I contact Vaillent who say i need to get the installer to register. Going around in circles here.

Roll on again 3 months ago. I have a Vaillant boiler installed in my own home. I phone up Vaillant to check and lo and behold no registration from the installer.... I'm constantly chasing the installer to get it registered.

Any advice what else I can do?

Thanks in advance.

TBH if there not registering them are they fully qualified?

Also needs registration with building control also

Thanks for the reply ShaunCorbs.

Yes both were qualified at the time of installation. First I did is check is they're Gas Safe registered. Valliant even checked that they're on their systems.

I don't know what the difficulty is in registering. I believe they even get a £25 incentive.

In the back of the manufacturer instructions is the benchmark filled in ?

Not that either! I'm only discovering this stuff now . :(
I suspect I need to get someone to verify the installation and certify it if such a thing exists.

Yes but won't be cheap especially if they find faults

Any chance of a few pics of the boilers ?

In all fairness. With the new vaillant advance app. You can fill the benchmark in on that instead of the book. However that will still register the boiler and warranty. And notify buildimg control if completed on the app

oh do new boiler installations need to be registered with building control?

They should but there's no penalty/ bad thing if there not

If they are vaillant approved installers. They can register them through vaillants app. It's very easy and only takes a few minutes. It registers the boiler for warranty, completes a gas safe certificate for you, registerers with building control and you can do the benchmark.
If they can't get on, or use the app. They can register the boiler using the bar code on the top of th boiler and ring this in. It will need registering with gas safe separately, oft this is done.

I would ask them once more and if they don't do it. Tell them you will have the installation checked by gas safe.
Sounds like they are registered, but lazy!

It's usually cheap installs that don't get registered
Time, money and paperwork
