Ok guys been having to top up on a regular basis then at 1.8 bar u turn on heating and the pressure goes to 3.5 bar and flashes

Replaced the vessel and said pressure release valve also as was leaking what's more worrying is the water in system is black and contaminated and he is reporting this and another division of valiant wil be in touch re estimate for flush (magnetic)

I thought the black stuff was the inhibitor ? He's said it's oil etc and outwith the tolerance

Assume I need to get this done or warranty nil and void ? Anyone got idea on cost ? This is fairly new full system

Who installed your boiler and how long ago? The "Black stuff" is magnetite which is a by product of the corrosion process. Your system should have been flushed and treated with inhibitor during the installation.
You will need this rectified or Vaillant will not honour the warranty. You can expect a rough cost of between £250 -£400 depending how big the system is.

Was installed less than a year ago I low the inhibitor definately went in as it smells like Indian spicy food. I actually bled a rad other day and water was mirky brown/ black

Hometeam called there £485 plus vat needs powerflush saying readings over 1500 should be 200 or 300 on water and requires heat exchange but will not do till sorted

Homteam telling me they use specialist equipment and takes 5 hours

Help anyone in Glasgow area

Foxyuk , might be better off stick a post in the " i need a plumber " section

dont know on prices up your way or how big the system is but if its a standard 3 bed semi down here youd be looking at 300-350 - ish

It's 9 radiators 2 bedroom one level bungalow , what is involved in the process ?

basically the will bring a mcahin in to clean the system out , add/remove certain chemicals

Does all heating engineers carry this machine u are implying about ? My concern is that it has to be done to a certain water quality as heat exchanger will not be replaced till sorted and assume I can't get a service call

I have made contact with the chump that installed system whom is calling me back tonight at end of say is his fault but I gave no confidence in him and want it done right not a fill up the system 3/4 times put in chemicals them tell me that's it

i dont know how many carry the machines some will own ,othesr will hire

Allow plenty of time for the powerflusher's visit, it could well take a lot longer than 5 hours. My worst was 8, but i know a crew who were at it for 12 hours before they got all the much out.

I only PF for a fixed price clients think its expensive until they hear you telling the Mrs you're still at it and wont be home for tea until the job is done.

spoke to b/gas they are sending someone out on monday to quote however they dont think they would powerflush as plastic pipes .. wait and see.....
. i spoke to hometeam who spoke to a manager whom advised that they would not now do a gold cleanse and just a silver at £500 incl vat and warranty for 2 years

I should get onto to the installer Its mandatory now if you look in the installation section of the installers booklet you will find a section there that asks if it has been flushed etc and if it has been filled in then you have a claim against him for falsely claiming it has been done if it hasn't been filled in then logically the boiler manufacturer has a right to refuse honor the guarantee as it hasn't been installed to manufactures instructions. Also depending on how long you have been topping ity up you would have lost all your inhibitor as you introduce fresh water into the system every time you do it which leads to corrosion etc.
