Going to cost me £444 for a new exhaust and a service on my caddy.

Looking about £190 + vat for the exhaust

And about £180 ish + vat for a service

Took it to the same guy I've always gone for mots. I like to keep loyalty.

How much do you peeps pay for a service on ya vans?
First time I've ever had a service so wouldn't know if I'm getting rogered!

Cost me £410 for a complete new exhaust on my 02 plate espace mate, cat alone was £180, we've been using the garage for 35 years so it's not too heavy IMHO :)

Thanks. I'm not too worried about the repair cost to exhaust to be fair.

More so the service. Well I'm not even worried about that. Just curious as to what others pay.

It's my van at the end of the day and I can t earn without it

Just had a full service on my transit through a mate who is a mobile mechanic oil and filters fuel filters redx air filter egr clean pump learn and all that jaz parts cost me £120 and I gave him £100 well pleased with the results

Take a look at the halfords autocentre website for a guide to different levels of service and price

Your kidding right? I wouldn't trust them with a shopping trolley.

besides there initial price is cheap , but they have targets to keep and they just pile on un required works.

im paying £183 for a service and mot at the dealer next week. You can barter with them.

I have one van that needs a clutch, windscreen and two tyres. My other van has started to chuck a few dashboard lights at me, so ive bit the bullet a d ordered a ew one. Here in 2 weeks.

Depends if its a full or interim service!

My brother is a mechanic & he services mine, but I buy all the bits online... For castrol engine oil, Bosch air filters, pollen filter, fuel filter, oil filter the parts alone are about 110 for good stuff so 180 sounds right for full service! Bit steep if he just drops the oil etc...

Best mate does mine and i take care of all things water and heating in his house and i think i have the better deal. My poor old Kangoo has done 180000 miles loaded to the gunnels and reliable as it gets. New transit custom this year i think.....been putting it off due to the mileage ive been doing but i think its about time.

I pay around 60 for interim service and around 150 for full service. Cost me 1300 for a turbo and alternator in December tho.

Kyle, I've been to the lion vw garage near cobden st a couple of times and been very pleased with the service.
I believe they used to be the vw main dealer too.
I drivea vito and i think I paid about £230ish for a service at my local garage. Mind you, they told me I needed new front brake pads. Thought id buy some and do it myself. I'm no mechanic but after buying new pads, took the old ones off and they look brand new! Not impressed....

They might look brand new, but brake discs & pads work off minimum thicknesses... I'm having new brake discs & pads on my vw t5, looks like there's plenty on them but its past minimum thickness that the brake pads or vw require

You can tell by seeing if there's a lip on the outer edge of the disc.
Dealers are a bugger for selling you stuff that isn't required. I ran a car for two years with according to the dealer low pads. They also measured my tyre wear, said it was low. I called the service manager and asked which tyre was low, he couldn't tell me by looking.

No they're definitely ok. I went out to europarts, bought new ones and they're the same thickness.

I've had the van since june and bought it off a mate so when I speak to him next I'll find out when they were changed
