[FONT=&quot]Looking to upgrade with s type control pack to control hw and rads separate.

[FONT=&quot]trying to determine the differences between control packs for vented and un-vented systems. but not sure why some packs are listed as vented and others un vented while the components in the packs appear to be the same. ie controller, wiring centre, two motorised valves, room stat, cylinder stat. ( some unvented packs appear to have no cylinder stat while others have all of the same components as far as i can tell.

All unvented should be fitted with a 2 port motorised valve. Linked through the cylinder controls.( normally supplied with cylinder. Nearly all will come with a factory fitted thermostat.
So these would be omitted on a pack suitable for unvented.

If you have an unvented cylinder then get a qualified engineer to make any control changes as these are dangerous if installed wrongly
