After a trip to germany, i discovered how popular viessmann boilers are over there. They are very reasonable priced alot easier to install than worcesters. If you do the free course, they have 5 years parts and labour guarentee, and 10 years on heat exchanger.

Iv only been on my own for 6 months so not that experianced with different boilers. Anybody have anything to say about these? based on fact that is:p

cheers, Jim

viessmann make a very good boiler, very reliable :)
Do not know about back up as never had call to use

I like the viessmans floor standing big boilers. not keen on any of the wall hung units.

too many extra controls and sensors that impede fault finding. no easy way of bypassing them.

i only maintain 5 of the things and they always cause me a headache (wb2 model)

I'm an accredited viessmann installer and think they are superb,my local rep is great too and if you fit 3 between now and the end of November you'll get a free Rhino pipe tube.Knocks the worcester fleeces into a cocked hat!

ive heard there good. im off on the course next week so that should be very helpful.

I too have wondered about the Viessmann boilers mainly because of the 5 year warranty. There have been some positive replies but are people refering to tht 100 or 200 series? Also Migo what sensors, controls etc do the Viessmann have that, say, Vaillants don't?

worcesters are also fairly tricked out with sensors.

JPM, u got fleeces? Iv install quite alot and all iv got is football shirts. seen the tub racks advertised.

I always point people towards worcesters... Might be turning to the darkside very soon though

1 and a wier guage only coz the rep is good, football shirts and the remote control cars from a few years ago,but a pipe tube is good with the viessmann logo.Try one you'll be impressed.

the wb2 200 model have a lovely in built weather compensator, dont know if they are factory fitted or optional, the weather compensator is just an extra problem when you are fault finding that is not required. it would be nice of them to just install an overide system for it. instead you have to spend an hour disconnecting wires, before you can begin testing.

its a very personal opinion of mine that i feel they are over engineered. cracking boiler when works, very eco friendly apparently, however i never see them working until after i have fixed them and thats for 5 minutes, by the time ive done it, i have a headache and cant wait to leave the job!!

give me a broagg anyday of the week!!

then again as has been said here on the forum and in the real world, we all have our favorites.

gonna give one of these a go the rep is gonna give me some cah of my first one.

viesmann back up is no1 ive always fitted Worcester until i tried viesmann dont look back

As a former viessmann key installer, I can tell you that when they do let you down, they do it big style. The local reps will tell you anything to get a sale regardless of whether they can back it up.

In one dismal week we had to start returning customer deposits up to £16k EACH because Viessmann UK were just totally overwhelmed and were doing nothing about it.

Their clunky supply chain cost us tens of thousands.

Then theres the issue of a spare part that isnt in the UK. For example the council swimming pool heated by a viessmann boiler, no UK spares and the unhelpful person in Telford (viessmann UK HQ) said "No, you cannot courier a part from germany, thats not how we do it."

Three weeks later...... you can imagine the mayhem.

There are sadly some real dinosaurs at viessmann UK. Stick with worcester. All those vans full of spares dotted around the country will be your life saver.

fitte quite a few of the viessmann solar panel kits ....never seen the boilers..the panels were excellent!!

Its funny as two fella's were moaning bout viessmann at me yard in the summer. There is no such thing as the perfect boiler, the best are those that cause the least problems, simple but true.

Been lookint these myself. They are claiming phone support etc in the gas installer mag!!
