Fitted one of their subway loo seats yesterday, dropped it onto the fixings to line it up and tighten. Then when I came to release it off the pins I can't get it off. Is there a knack guys?

Lots of different ways.
lift seat vertical and pull
push buttons next to the hinges.
stainless retainer ring ( these can be twisted or pull)

pic says a thousand words.

Did one today and it was just hold vertically and ease up.

Lift the seat upright, Push down on the seat, push in both buttons. Then tap the seat sideways with your hand sharply, to pop off one side first. After that the other side will come off easy.
